Colebrook Meeting 1/28/11:
On January 28, 2011, over 120 people gathered at Colebrook Elementary school to listen to a presentation of concerned citizens, business owners, real estate agents, an attorney and a state representative. The following are audio clips from the presentations given.

Peter Powell
Son of former Governor Wesley Powell, operates Peter W. Powell Real Estate in Lancaster, provides detailed insight into property valuations and the effects this project could have on local property values. He was part of the group that fought the first Hydro-Quebec project in NH and fought a refinery that was proposed for bottom of Corrigan Hill in Lancaster.

Valerie Harres
Valerie talks about HB 302 which would redefine what is "renewable energy".

State Rep. Larry Rappaport
State Rep. Larry Rappaport (R-Colebrook) is a member of the House Committee on Science, Technology and Energy which will be reviewing HB 302. He also discusses emergency legislation that is being proposed to ban eminent domain by public utilities.

Attorney Bob Baker
Attorney Bob Baker of Columbia discusses in general what landowner rights are, what type of entity is The Northern Pass and what to look for in the Right of Entry Agreements.

Rick Samson
Rick Samson, a resident of Stewartstown and former selectman and planning board member, compared rates in Quebec, Vermont and NH. He also discussed Warrant Articles appearing in towns related to Northern Pass and talked about getting involved in Concord.
