SB 361 Public Hearing 11/14/12:
210 people appeared for the second of two public hearings by the SB 361 Commission to express their views about future energy projects and most said electric transmission lines should be buried with a few expressing concern about the proces in which transmission projects are approved by the state. None of the members of the commision spoke, it was only facilitated by Sen. Jeanie Forrester of Meredith so that people could get a chance to their government.
Jack Savage
Jack Savage of the Society for Protection of NH Forests addressed some points the commission should look at and asked a question about possible conflict of some commission members who also serve on the NH Site Evaluation Commmittee.
Peter Martin
Peter Martin of Plymouth talked about the importance of proper plannning for transmission lines becaiuse the state is already mapped out for future projects that would destroy our landscape.
Anthony Fitzherbert
Anthony Fitzherbert of Campton talked aboout EMF radiation from overhead power lines and likely links to childhood cancers.
Jim Dannnis
Jim Dannnis of Dalton spoke on behalf of Responsible Energy Action, LLC and talked about prioritizing between projects that are elective vs. keeping the lights on.
David Venhauten
David Venhauten of Bethlehem talked about the need to be cautious in studying these issues.
Nancy Martland
Nancy Martland of Sugar Hill talked about how NH is in the way of big corporate deals and that we could end up looking like NJ. She also added about an overhead power line proposal was successfully fought and how that did not stop energy development in the Empire State.
Margo Connors
Margo Connors serves as a selectman in Sugar Hill and quickly followup on Nancy Martland's comments.
Ron Willoughby
Ron Willoughby of N. Haverhill talked about how he has never seen such strong opposition to any proposed project like he does now.
Kelly Monahan
Kelly Monahan, Grafton County Registrar of Deeds talked about her own experience with trying to sell property located underneath power lines.

Dave Stewart of Rochester spoke against Northern Pass and Hydro-Quebec.
